As you probably know TCNISO the developers of the Sigma firmware are preparing to release a docis 2.0 ready product, Sigma X2. The most commonly asked question is "How much is this going to cost me?" Unfortunately there will be a licensing fee charged for this firmware regaurdless of where you purchased your modem, even if you bought a premodified modem from TCNISO you still must buy the license. As soon as X2 is released we will update the modification kit with X2 as a optional upgrade. When it is all said and done the final cost for the upgrade should be about $15 per modem, this will be finalized over the next couple of weeks before the final version is available. If you purchased a premodified modem from Theoryshare we will do our best to minimize the cost to the maximum extent. Most importantly if you do not own a JTAG cable we will offer a service where you can send your modem back to us to have it professionally upgraded. This will cost $30 and includes all the software with upgrades, and return shipping. If you have any questions please do not hesite to contact us, either through the forums or via contact us on the site.
